4R1 ~ Measures of Valuing People

Our turnover rate is one indirect measurement of valuing people, as are our benefits.  The financial commitment we make to training and educating our employees is also a measure. The amount of release time given to faculty to participate in Shared Governance is an indirect measure of our accomplishments in this area as well.  See 4P8 for measures used to determine employee training.

HR has not used employee satisfaction surveys to measure employee motivation and satisfaction for a number of years.  However, IR regularly gathers employee survey feedback on service satisfaction issues through the IPS and Customer Service Surveys.

Minimum certification requirements set by the WTCSB are measured by our View Figure 4.4Certification Office.  Figure 4.4 provides a snapshot of the status of faculty certification by looking at full- and part-time faculty who had an assignment to teach in the 2008-2009 academic year.

In addition, credential standards by program area are agreed upon by faculty and administration in each department and are posted on our intranet website.  Certified personnel receive a status report toward renewal of their certificate one year in View Figure 4.5advance of their certificate’s expiration date. Figure 4.5 offers a breakdown of full-time faculty credentials.
