Who We Are
As the largest technical college in the state with 4 campuses and 11 satellite sites, the size, organization, and complexity of MATC make it unique. MATC provides leadership in efforts to educate all citizens through close collaboration with other educational institutions, the public and private sectors, organized labor, and community organizations. MATC is also the licensee for WMVS-TV, Channel 10, and WMVT-TV, Channel 36, the nonprofit educational and public television stations serving Southeastern Wisconsin.
As outlined in the Wisconsin Statutes, Section 38.001, the MATC Board endorses the following educational and training initiatives in support of its mission as determined by community needs and financial capabilities:
- Occupational programs and courses
- Education, training, and retraining
- Liberal Arts and Science courses
- Developmental education
- Coordination, cooperation, and contracting with business
- Educational programs and technical assistance
- Personal, civic, and multicultural enrichment opportunities
- Flexible instructional delivery systems
- Programs creating an understanding of the global economy
