Agenda Item 2     Report from Jan. 22nd In-Service Committee

 

Discussion:  The ABE 6 Level In-Service Workshop will be held January 22, 2008 from 9:00am to 1:00 pm in S120.  Topics will include 1) Discussion of Course Outcome Summaries; 2) How to develop a syllabus based on the new competencies; 3) How to access Curriculum for below the line curriculum; 4) What does a “P” really mean?  5) What rubric/checklist will we develop to evaluate student progress within the required competencies; 6) What Assessment tools are acceptable as pre-requisite markers; 7) What textbooks will correlate with the new 6 Levels and which ones will be acceptable district-wide? [Textbook Review Committee will convene on Jan. 22 to have report completed by Feb. 22, 2008.]

Agenda Item 3     What does “P” really mean?

 

Discussion:  The summary of 80% required for passing the PLI courses written up by Sue Huebner was basically accepted by the committee to be distributed to faculty at the January 22nd workshop.  Additions, further suggestions, omissions, etc. need to sent to Sue N. and Andrea by noontime on Tuesday, Dec. 18 to be added to the document.
